Born in Luanda, Angola to Azorean natives, Carlos’ family moved to Toronto in 1961 seeking greater opportunities.

Carlos met wife Margaret while he was at York University pursuing a bachelor of arts, before switching to accounting – they now have four sons.

Carlos Jr. currently runs Teixeira Accounting Firm, which was established in 1973 by the late David Sousa Teixeira.

A founding member of the Portuguese Canadian Golf Association, Carlos’ vision for the Portuguese community is that younger generations, who have the benefit of a Canadian education and experience, work together to build a stronger and more pro-active community.
